Unmati is Not My Poem

Unmati is Not My Poem

A Story by FlatDaddy
"

I have been tremendously affected by a poem written by another Writers' Cafe member. I think more people should know of it.

"

Unmati: Memories of a “mad” woman” is a poem by a Writer’s Cafe member

whose user name is “broken.buddy.”

I have visited this page and read this piece at least five times now.

I do not know why I come, but I weep each time I do.

It crushes my heart, each time I come, and I come back knowing that it will.

It speaks with no emotion at all, yet is the most powerful thing I have ever read.

I feel like this is personal.

It was written for me.

Am I Broken Buddy?

Did I go back in time to be reborn in India, learn English anew,

and write this poem knowing I would read it, again and again?

It does not matter, and yet I must know.

And now I think I do know: I am Unmati.

Unmati means “Insane”

I was able to find the poem a couple of days ago and meant to go back for a closer look, but this site is glitching so bad I had to give up. I think I know the gist of it, and it's a sad story that is in desperate need of intervention from on high. It speaks to you in a special way. Beat up, bumped and bruised, we must carry on and hope for better days.

I skimmed it when first found, but failed several times to come back for a closer look.
