Unmati is Not My PoemA Story by FlatDaddyI have been tremendously affected by a poem written by another Writers' Cafe member. I think more people should know of it.
“Unmati: Memories of a “mad” woman” is a poem by a Writer’s Cafe member
whose user name is “broken.buddy.”
I have visited this page and read this piece at least five times now.
I do not know why I come, but I weep each time I do.
It crushes my heart, each time I come, and I come back knowing that it will.
It speaks with no emotion at all, yet is the most powerful thing I have ever read.
I feel like this is personal.
It was written for me.
Am I Broken Buddy?
Did
I go back in time to be reborn in India, learn English anew,
and write this poem knowing I would read it, again and again?
It does not matter, and yet I must know.
And now I think I do know: I am Unmati.
Unmati means “Insane”
