Creepy Old Cat

Creepy Old Cat

A Poem by FlatDaddy
"

Me and my cat in the morning. Pic by me.

"

Morning comes creeping
on fat old cat’s feet
to roust me from bed,
let creepy cat eat.

She leaps on the bed
then springs to my chest
and digs in her claws,
thus ending my rest.

Screaming and swatting,
I curse her and plead,
“Please! I'll give you food
“when I fill my need!”

Creepy old kitty
knows I speak the truth,
We’ve played this old game
since she was a youth.

Sighing and yawning
she waits by her dish
As I start the pot
That fulfills my wish.

Preening and licking
her paws for missed bits,
Kitty now lounges
Near where my cup sits.

She knows the liquid
That sits near my hand
Keeps me and kitty
Best friends in the land!

She has her kibble
and that makes her purr
And I have my coffee
And that makes me GRRR,
RREAT!!

Aw, a cat poem from you FD. They do love to spring on the bed in the morning to wake you up don’t they? Regular as clockwork. Don’t need an alarm. They don’t care who feeds them as long as they are fed. Have a great weekend. Enjoyed your stanzas.

Being allergic to cats, my eyes swell to Marty Feldman size when near them, I cannot see their draw:)) There seems no loyalty, their best friends being who ever at any given time is feeding them.
Saying that, enjoyed your wel!I written piece

Thanks, Eternity.
That old cat’s running the house like a tiny mob boss, claws first, mercy later.
But there’s love in the racket—coffee for you, kibble for her, and the morning somehow works out.
