The Words Are Dancing

The Words Are Dancing

A Poem by Dominik Drites
"

Reading without glasses

"
Squinting her eyes, she sees the letters,
but are they really there?
The lines dance on the chalkboard,
squiggles merging together,
and play with her confused mind
which turns over bare.

I lost my glasses a little while back and this is basically what words look like for me from afar :)

Without my reading glasses I see the exact same thing. It's the one thing I despise about getting old, especially since I used to have excellent eye sight. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
