Traveler's Summer Night

Traveler's Summer Night

A Poem by Dominik Drite
"

A night out in the woods

"
Branches heavy with tattered leaves bathe me
in whispered moonlight beams.
Crickets call to their lost dewy lovers
with notes from hopeless dreams.
Famished eyes look into the darkness wide,
sitting warm and nested.
Stars rain silky threads of distant heaven,

where life has long rested.
