A   river   runs   free

 

      the deepest part of me flows

 

                              with ev'ry ripple

I definitely like this haiku. This is the best kind of work, in fact, because I learned something by reading it. "ev'ry" I never thought to do this with words of that type. I could think of many haikus where I could have written better by saving just one syllable. What do you call that, when you write a word like 'every' as "ev'ry?"

Haiku huh? I really like this, very short but very powerful. I need to study haiku to gain an understanding of the style and rules, I'd like to try it. Especially if I could come up with something half as good as this little beauty.
