Violet Stone/Happy Thoughts

Violet Stone/Happy Thoughts

A Story by Fran Marie
"

part 4 of Little Red Riding Hood Series

"
Bits and pieces were starting to form in Scarlet's head, she just
couldn't connect all the dots yet,but she knew deep within her black

soul something very dark and evil lived.Judy was nice and all, but
smoked those god-awful cigarettes. Scarlet detested people who
smoked, yet the flame inside Judy's tiny gadget, the shiny lighter was
like none other she had ever seen, she liked living with Judy but all of that
 was about to change.

Scarlet watched from the window as Judy and Jim drove away.
Scarlet felt restless, yet tired. She found a book about medicines on the shelf
one of many, most likely a medical book from Judy's nursing school.
She started reading the A-Z medical journal when she saw the word Amnesia
she thought of what Judy told her...you probably have some temporary amnesia
sweetie, it'll all come back to you..then she browse down the page and read the
word Arsenic, a sudden chill ran down her spine, another deja`vu feeling came
over her like a black puff of smothering smoke she became anxious and frightened
and threw the book down, she went to lay down and fell into a deep slumber.
She saw flames dancing in her dream, shooting high into the dark night air
and a small girl dressed in a red cape holding an axe and dancing in the middle
of the flames.

She was singing  a song about happy thoughts as arsenic cookies laughed at her.
She saw blood and guts of dead people and animals, visions of a toothless woman
laughing and blowing smoke, she heard words that didn't make sense, like loot,
red, hey red, and a dancing gold key she couldn't hold onto and matches inside a
 cedar chest.
She saw Judy's shiny silver lighter...Scarlet sprang up in bed
like a jack-in-the box with a sardonic grin on her face and madness in her eyes
The happy Thoughts had returned, it was 2 A.M. and Judy was sleeping in her bed with a sweet smile on her face.

Scarlet tipped-toed over to the table and found Judy's lighter.
She then grabbed her few possessions which she had, she flicked the lighter
with the excitiment of an arsonist setting the curtains ablaze, a stack of newspapers
and blankets around Judy's bed.
Then she went outside the appartment and locked the door with Judy trapped inside,oh how she enjoyed this and all the happy thoughts were not only in her head but also inside her dark soul...Scarlet would kill again.

Monday morning came soon enough and Scarlet was glowing and
beautiful as ever a girl could be.
Hello Mr. Barnette,  Hi Bill, "Scarlet said.
The three got into the car and started on their way.
Scarlet sat in the back seat, and the two men in the front
" I'm really looking forward to meeting this famous author I heard so much about.

"Just relax, Scarlet we have quite a ride up to the countryside where he lives"
Scarlet closed her eyes and tried to envision what this man might look like, perhaps
she thought, tall dark and handsome, she started fantizing that she would gaze into
his eyes and he would be compelled by her beauty and she would be mesmerized
by his power and wealth.

She even entertained the idea that maybe their own lives would parallel the movie

script and she would become his real live Violet Stone.

It would be so beautiful and exciting; life imitating art, she would be the famous and important "Violet Stone"

Perhaps just delusions of grandeur in her paranoid mind; but nevetheless it was all so real
and they were a different kind of happy thoughts for a change.

She sighed, then yawned and fell asleep.
So it was this mystery writer which became the man of her dreams.

A delightfully twisted story... their are some people out there that will do anything at any cost... they seem to have no soul... a great fun story that could actually be all to real.
