FlowersA Poem by Fraser MurrayOne day at a time, and better every day.
They say you'll never grow flowers if you don't plant seeds,
But I understand the pain of seeing every single year's crop succumbing to weeds, Or trampled by the feet of an unseen disease, And I know it feels like the rainy season is never going to come, To deliver you a reason to bother f*****g breathing, But I swear you'll see the demons and the vultures all defeated, If you hold on to the thought that you can NOT be f*****g beaten, No matter if you've failed, no matter if you've weakened; Life persists in places we could only see in dreams, And you aren't any different; you will live and you will thrive, You just need to take it day by day, allow yourself to cry, And build a life around you that creates a reason why You should keep fighting this fight, Planting those seeds, Tending to your needs as if you were nurturing a sapling to maturity, Because being a living creature can have it's demands, But the way through this existence is paved by your own hands. © 2021 Fraser MurrayReviews
