Misty Mornings

Misty Mornings

A Poem by SELF

The inner conflicts fly within our hearts
like seagulls across the ebbing tides of the ocean.
And though life is palpable like the morning dew,
it carries waves of endless beauty
like the infinite Starry night sky.

As the feet of sunken people rest their soles
on the ancient ground of the Earth,
they stumble and fall with fire in their hearts
longing for a home they know not
time after time.

But on that dark and gloomy night
with hearts and minds buried in illusions and lies,
a ray of sunshine shoots like a bolt
from the midst of conversations in the dark
and touches those who are in the world but not of the world.
