Kintsukuroi

Kintsukuroi

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

Fill my cracks with gold,
so that I may shine
in all the broken places.

Kintsugi, also known as Kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. -Wikipedia

Awesome metaphor. Don't go getting soft on me, now!

Who me? Never!
Ah I remember that from someone talking to me about it. It's kinda like that meat in a persons life. Everything can be broken but if you shine through the broke pieces of life and hold onto the quality in you, (or anyone) you shine beautifully

😆 .
I liked the hope and the wish of the poem. Gold would make the cracks shine bright. Thank you Gaia for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you ☺
To take the art of restoring broken china and apply that metaphor to making better of a broken person, that just reads as stellar to me. Kintsugi. :)

You wrote this as well as it could've been written, in so few lines, but simultaneously just enough lines to pack a very strong punch.

Excellent, my friend, excellent!
