I stand on the Cliff

The Cliff of Opportunity

And watch people’s lives drift

Drift in the Sea

The Sea of Life

I look to the sky above me

The Stars have no strife

Those in the sky changed history

With my decision in mind, I jump off the Cliff and scream

I’m now plunging towards the Sea of Despair

Oh, how I had wanted to fulfill my dream

An idea comes to mind, but do I dare?

I close my eyes and put forth my mind

Tears slide down my cheeks as I start crying

Then I feel something and open my eyes to find

That my wings had grown and I was flying

The Stars came into sight

My dream was coming true

I fly towards them with all my might

They say, “We were waiting for you.”

I see my place and take it

Never let go of a dream

And never quit

No matter how hard everything may seem

For if you surrender

You will land in the Sea of Despair

And become nothing but another contender

Who failed to complete Life’s hardest Dare
