Dear death

Simple words on a Saturday morning

And when you come for me dear death
youll find not fearful tears,
as I have lived a love filled life
for nigh on four score years.
I was raised a child, raised my own
was loved, and have loved back,
have walked this world in honest shoes
along an honest track.
I've helped where help was needed most
without request or plea,
have shouldered tears, quelled their fears
as they have done for me.
So when you come for me dear death
please heed what I have said,
and as you catch my final breath
remember,
a good man dies but is never dead...

This is so deep and meaningful… I think poet captured the feelings very well, it flows with a little tear. Loved it

the title caught my eye, as you know this is a topic i am endlessly fascinated with. this extremely optimistic view you hold is heart-warming. it is life affirming - work filled gratitude, kindness, and love. although i am a broken man with a shambled life, it is good to know that you have lived a good life. brings a tear to my eye.

Wonderfully expressed poem, love the flow of words. The subject of death seems to make people fear what they do not know beyond the unknown. But I feel when the time comes we will understand the presence of hope beyond this life. ;-}

Wonderfully composed, Gee! I absolutely loved this one. Ahhh... Honestly, this one is truly an art. The way he is carefully telling how he has led a good life with morals and values is just awe-inspiring.
