Just Because

A Poem about lessons learned in life

Just because I'm used to walking alone,
doesn't mean that i want to,

Just because I'm not perfect,
doesn't mean i have no worth.

Just because sometimes i am silent,
doesn't mean i have nothing to say,

and just because I'm not typical,
doesn't mean i don't recognize sames.

Just because I'm easy going,
doesn't mean that i am a doormat,

just because i can forgive
doesn't mean that i can forget.

Just because people give up on me,
doesn't mean that i give up on them,

and just because i can take another beating,
doesn't mean that i haven't bled.

just because i keep on going,
doesn't mean i haven't been maimed,

just because i keep on breathing,
doesn't mean that it's not strained.

Just because times a healer,
doesn't mean i don't have scars,

and just because my life looks easy,
doesn't mean that its not hard.

Just because some people cant look at me,
doesn't mean i don't see beauty in them,

just because my life is like a cage,
doesn't mean i cant jump the fence.

Just because i don't sleep so good,
doesn't mean,i don't have dreams,

and just because i wear my heart on my sleeve,
doesn't mean that I'm naive.

Just because i have no money,
doesn't make me poor,

but just because i can accept my life,
doesn't mean i don't want more.

There are some very interesting comparisons in your piece, comparisons that are intelligent, thought provoking and, in some cases, unfortunately true. I liked so many of the lines in this writing, I would have to give too much away in this review if I were to list them all. This was good, my friend!
