Pledge Of lies

Pledge Of lies

A Poem by Ghosty Writer
"

This poem is my honest take on how I see the promises of freedom and unity that society talks about.

"
I pledge my anger to the truth,
To fight against the lies they feed,
Liberty for all?
Yeah, right- liberty for who?
Because I’m damn sure they don’t mean me or you.

They say "one nation,"
But divide us every day,
Promising unity,
While they strip us away.
They say "indivisible,"
But we're shattered, broken, betrayed-
Meanwhile they hide in their mansions,
Damn near unscathed.

And "liberty and justice for all?"
That’s a f***ing joke-
Justice for some, freedom for the rich,
While we choke.
They swear "under God,"
But it’s their God, not mine-
While we suffer in silence,
Waiting for change that’s never coming in time.

So I tear it apart,This pledge they hide behind-
Because liberty’s a lie,
If it’s only for the powerful and blind.
