A GLIMPSE OF HOPE

I didn’t expect I’ll be with you all day,

For it was not the day of your duty.

So to see you both I was so happy,

For I’ve been missing you terribly!

Then one of you came to me and said,

“Ms. Gwen, I have my presentation already,

I will send it to you for the students’ orientation day.”

Oh, what a great, superb, and terrific day!

Then everyone in the office was so busy,

Discussing the schedule all the way.

There were those who showed anxiety,

Specially those who were above forty,

But others were just okay.

Then one of you spoke compassionately,

“Ms. May, I think we need to do this in unity”.

Thank you, Ms. Flor for your sensitivity!

Then you told me that you’re not going home that day,

To prepare all the files and make everything ready.

Unexpectedly, I said “I’ll stay.”

Back to my chair I was thinking hesitantly,

“What help could I give if I will stay?”

But I chose to be with you all night, anyway.

Then you started working enthusiastically,

While I was exploring with the MS Teams halfheartedly.

I went to your place occasionally.

I saw how you worked hard cheerfully.

I was so blessed to see you worked gracefully.

I was hoping I could help you even in my own little way.

Then you told me, “Ms. Gwen, have your camera ready.

Go to Teams and act as a teacher shortly.”

“Hurray! I was able to help finally!”

Yes, that very little thing I was so happy.

Then I invited Madam Siao, mistakenly.

Ha! Ha! Ha! We laughed boisterously!

Yeah! It was so funny.

We both shared how much we worry.

Then, these two ladies did tutor us so patiently.

The lessons we’ve learned that night lessen our anxiety.

It’s a glimpse of hope to our “New Normal” journey.

Thank you for the LOVE, Ms. Flor and Ms. May!
