Nature Walks

The red river valley
is overgrown with moss.
the sand is beached,
without a sea to nurture,
watch,
or venerate.

Old companions -
years apart.
How the ocean worshipped us
when we were near in nature.

And then the ices came,
Sea creatures
were lost inside
the time between
that we adored.

A rush of waves and sudden deserts.
Sands of time
relieving us,
for aeons long
with emptiness

Yet overhead,
the Joybringer,
still in my heart,
that's pounding, crashing.

Oceans
waving down,
in solace,
waiting
for the dreams to come.

That is my favorite line. I love the movement of this poem. It has a broad scope but never gets lost in generality. You keep the line straight and sturdy.

Great poem. I really liked this part:

"How the ocean worshipped us
when we were near in nature."

This actually makes me feel better because I am relating it to my own life right now, even though I don't know what you wrote it about, which that's what poetry is about so...yeah. I really love this. You brought me joy today.
