Rap Trap

Rap Trap

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

A rap song about a mouth that wont stop

"

Rap Trap (a rap song)

My life's a mess, let me try to explain,

I'm a 5 minute walk to going insane,

see there's way to much going on in my brain,

headed for a crash on a high speed train

my bones are acrakin', my knees wont bend,

ain't got no money, but I spend, spend, spend,

don't know why I feel, I have to pretend,

took some big blue pills, hoping to mend

things changed so fast, I wasn't even aware,

when it hit me in the face, why I do declare,

time to man-up, need to grow me a pair,

or I can turn my back and pretend I don't care

caught in a trap, betwixt and between,

should I tell everyone, should I come clean,

I'm so confused, do you know what I mean?,

when I look in the mirror, I see Orson Bean

it's just jive, some people say it's rap,

if you want my opinion, I think it's crap,

but I find it hard to get outa this trap,

can't stop my lips from goin flap, flap, flap

I like this one, too. And I agree with Desert Dreamer, you seem to make a comic view of a serious subject.

I have a challenge for you, though. Your rhymes are simple, only rhyming the last words of every line. Try to do what, in hip-hop, we call a multi. Instead of rhyming the last word, try to rhyme the last two words of every line. For example:

I saved a cat from the big tree,

Unaware that, in my skin, his fangs would dig me...

You see how the last two words of both of the lines rhyme? That's a multi. It makes your rhyming much more intriguing and it allows your skills as a rapper to expand. From there, you can even go as far as trying to ryhme the last three, or even four lines. Nice rap, though.

I like this song poem. The subject seems to be somewhere between comical and serious. I am listening to your songs on muziboo.com and I like them so far. Thank you for sharing.

How do I review a song? I don't know. I listen to classical music only and to jazz. But this sort of song makes good feeling with everybody in the same situation; one is trapped, doesn't matter if in drug, love or eating too much; I thought I liked how you ask, "should I come clean", and I liked the ending. Nice rhyme; I would need to hear the rhythm, too, song is both, rhyme and rhythm, right?
