Two Dogs

Two Dogs

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

just a silly poem about my two old dogs aged 15 and 12

"

Two Dogs

I have 2 old dogs you see,

they never stop bugging me,

they always need to poop or pee,

or beg saying please feed me

they drive me up a frigin wall,

their incestent panting in the hall,

they have plenty of water for all,

with fans blowing breezes like fall

they always have a pain or an itch,

keeping them happy is a b***h,

but I love watching them twitch,

at least they don't ever snitch

yes I've had these two critters so long,

I've even written them a song,

it will be sad when they are gone,

they're my pals, can that be so wrong.

its such a lovely verse, and so easy to relate to for me, as a reader - i do love dogs too, and they are so much a part of the family. right from when they are kids to when they are old and gray, they bring the pure kind of joy, which often "people" don't! they really are good pals. and they stay around, long after they're gone! loved the funny quips and bits and pieces of both your dogs, lovingly strewn in this song! what a lovely dedication to them!

Dogs and other animals can be family, too. The amazing thing is that we humans do so much to take care of our pets, we must have a need to nurture. Nicely written.

Very witty, as is the standard of this writer..! This is a fitting, honest and real tribute to 'man's best friend'. It's amusing and touching in its portrayal of the two-sided view of these doting great hairy oafs, and it says a lot about any loving relationship that you can dislike and be annoyed by a lot the things people or creatures may do - but it doesn't alter your affection for them...

It reminds me of one time when my boss dropped me home after work and as we pulled up, my dog stuck his head round the corner of the yard wall to see who was there.. My boss -who had a dog of his own- said "Oh, you've got a s**t-machine too, have you?"....
