Feeling Small

Feeling Small

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

Insignificance is the rule

"

Feeling Small

sometimes things happen for a reason

sometimes there just is no choice

when something makes you feel so small

you no longer seem to have a voice

your pride or dignity have been completely stripped

you offered something that was refused

now you see that it was really insignificant

but you sit here now totally confused

you thought at least the gesture

would be greeted with thoughts of pleasure

now tossed aside like nothing more than garbage

no it wasn't a special prize not any sort of treasure

you live and learn at least that's what they say

I guess I learned a new lesson even at my age

you can never assume the importance that you give

to anything at all not even the words written on this page

I agree, I think there is a reason for everything.
Well written, thought out piece.
Pouring out your heart, very well done.
But I also think that sometimes the gesture made is sometimes misunderstood or interpreted wrong.
Emotions, thoughts and the heart very well expressed here David.
