Reflections

reflections in the mirror reflections in the water

reflections in the eyes of someones lovely daughter

do I see what is real or something I've contrived

do I see what they see or is it someone completely new

dreams of men old and young somehow fade away

things they hoped and wished for each and every day

time has a way of making the vision seem slowly dimmer

optical fixations can only be seen clearly if believe you do

most times the reflection we see is somewhere in between

not as bad as the hunchback or as pretty as Charlie Sheen

his demons have reared their nasty ugly heads so sad

had the world by the proverbials if you know what I mean

I have this urge to do something that would be wrong

changes can't be made as simple as the words to a song

the risks are really high no matter which way I go

either way will I be satisified in the reflection left behind
