Disappearing Act

Disappearing Act

A Poem by Gomer LePoet

Disappearing Act

feeling so much like a desperate fool

feel like I'm drowning in an empty pool

kicking my feet but getting nowhere

feeling abandoned strapped to a chair

searching my soul looking high and low

where do I turn now where do I go

oh the answers are free just ask anyone

they all have solutions experts by the ton

but it seems the best answer to me so far

is to hang by my legs from a overhead bar

let the blood flow down rush to my head

or maybe run real fast with scissors instead

I could jump up and down on a bumble bee nest

call people dumb names be a general pest

start a fight with a really big burly guy

and maybe I'll get me a nice black eye

I need to go away that's a definite fact

maybe it's time for a disappearing act

I'm not a huge fan of the rhyme scheme -- but I don't like those in general.

I like the wording and the choice of metaphors in this. And I especially enjoyed the part about just running with scissors instead of anything else.

nicely done.
