Thin Ice

you boys in the back are skating on very thin ice

those are the words that Mr. Windisch said

in the back row of his world history class

we weren't paying attention goofing off instead

he added in fact how about the two of you

skate right on down to the detention room

I ignored his words and pretended to tie my shoe

then he was standing over me I could feel his doom

Gary and I were a couple of hell raising dudes

getting booted from class was our secret goal

the principle said you boys have bad attitudes

stuffing wads of paper in the toilet bowl

filling prophalactics with water to the top

looking out through a second floor window

waiting for someone to walk by then drop

running and laughing so hard you know

school was nothing but an all day party for us

we never took anything serious at all

we pulled more pranks on the old school bus

but we knew later that night there would be a call

hello Mr Johnson and hello Mr Jones

your boys are juvenile delinquents you know

constant trouble and irreverant tones

today they made the cafeteria glow

yes those were the days of care free silliness

we never wanted to grow up and get old

funny how things change as time rolls by

with families now were not quite so bold

but we both look back now with memories so fine

the biology class when we let loose the mice

now we're both teachers we make them get in line

it's our turn to say you boys are skating on thin ice
