The Last Goodbye

The Last Goodbye

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

Take a bow and exit stage left

"

The Last Goodbye

this may be the final piece that I write

I don't think I have any more words left inside

I feel I am drowning in my own tears tonight

the dreams I realize have finally died

yes it was absolutely a fantasy I know

that a perfect angel would even give a second look

but the love I felt just continued to grow

and now I have reached the end of this book

so what more can I now possibly say

the characters have left the stage the story ends

wish it would not have to end this way

goodbye to all of you my friends

I have to agree with Blue on this, it was simple words and came across strong. Words of wisdom I will share with now sometimes less is more. I truly hope that this was fictional.

You definitely are effective in conveying the mood of the poem upon the reader...I am now feeling mellow and a bit depressed. I love how this tale was easy to understand, but not flat and literal.
