imagine if you can living your life in reverse

you would come to this world delivered in a hearse

awakened by a mortician at the age of 75

you would be quite stiff but you would be alive

all your life experiences and all of the living

in your memory now and more chances of giving

day by day getting younger and stronger too

the wrinkles on your face and that faded tatoo

you would have the chance to repair your mistakes

maybe eating more healthy and a lot fewer cakes

fixing the hearts of ones you have broken

renew conversations speaking words upspoken

helping the world become a much better place

now that you understand your part in this race

a lifetime of giving more and taking much less

commiting less sins that you will have to confess

meeting your children as adults all grown up

sharing your thoughts with them over a cup

no longer seeing them as simply a child

but more as a friend not someone so wild

imagine all the knowledge that you could bring

to make your classes now much more interesting

not just thinking of school as a place to raise hell

wasting your precious time waiting for the bell

I think many of us would cherish the chance

to once again attend our senior prom dance

play ball once again with friends from those days

we would probably change ourselves in many ways

I know this is only a pipe dream and certainly not real

but can you imagine just how great that would feel

we sometimes wait too long to appreciate what we should

I guess in retrospect my life has been pretty good

A lot of questions in this poem. I would be wiser if I could go back and re-do many things. The problem with life. Most of us learn the hard way. I like the complete poem. Your ending is true. If we are alive and still healthy at a old age. We did OK.
