My QueenA Poem by Gomer LePoetAdored to the point of unfair expectationsMy
Queen she cast her magic glance my way I lower my eyes so she cannot see that this common man would ever dare I practice this routine every day taking in all of her wondrous beauty hoping she does not see my stare
she wonders aloud shes asks me why would I worship her when she is human too she cannot understand my internal fire her gentle voice brings a tear to my eye I have loved no one like I have loved you I tell her she is my only desire
and as these silken thoughts release maybe I am not quite fair setting her standards way to high my expectations unreal as they increase the scent of lilacs in her golden hair I take a backward step as I hear her sigh
you ask too much of me my kind sir I need not your bowing head I need my freedom I need some space she gives her love incensed with myrrh you must accept without strings of dread to stop these tears glistening my face
