Last Dance

Last Dance

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

Dancing to the kiss

"

Last Dance

I awake each and every morning

so wishing you were here

to give to you a hug of gratitude

and help to calm our fear

that we may never ever touch

only the thoughts in our hearts

that keep us holding on so tight

in my sad dreams lonliness now starts

but now the distance is being felt

your grasp seems to be fading

as I see you moving further away

into the drowning pool I'm now wading

I cry about your sometimes naive heart

and you about my jealous mind

wedges digging ever deeper now

my reaching hand empty now I find

I wish that I could give to you

a hug of gratitude every single night

before we say hey see you soon

and kiss as we turn off the light

but that is just a dream I have

of this there is so little chance

I feel your love for me is so strong now

one more sweet kiss tonight's last dance

Well David, this one sure is bringing tears to my eyes.
It is sad when circumstance prevents. Whats even more sad is that when circumstances alow for wedges to come in and seperate the love.
yes, some dreams remain just that a dream

This is a heartfelt, longing, sad, but wonderful poem David.
Now I must go and find my kleenex
