Burning Embers

Burning Embers

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

school boy love

"

Burning Embers

once again you have rekindled the fires

fanned the flames of my burning desires

put my heart in front of your own

can I ever repay the love that you've shown

am I in a dream should I open my eyes

every day with you is a new surprise

it might be better if I kept my mouth shut

just leave well enough alone but

the question is why would you love me so

certainly I am no one special as we both know

just a ordinary every day sometimes fool

who could use a return to polite manners school

I know that I am crazy crazy about you

so crazy sometimes I just don't know what to do

I step on my tongue and trip on my feet

like a clumsy school boy so incredibly incomplete

I learn something good from you every day

how to love in a more gracious way

if you continue fueling these burning embers

I'll love you for a lifetime of Septembers

Gosh David,

This was so beautiful, so heartfelt. We all sometimes wonder why, but I agree, we should just accept. Easier said than done, I know. I believe this has become a favorite of mine.

This was abosolutely from your heart (again)
Thanks David
