This Old Shoe

this old shoe all scuffed up and tattered

the strings now all shredded and torn

the sole has been completely shattered

not worth much now left alone and worn

a little attention could have been given

some polish and a rag could have done wonders

but lack of care no heart that was driven

left in a corner alone ignored broken asunder
