I Am So Afraid

I Am So Afraid

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

Things that really scare me

"

I am so afraid

I am frightened by many things

death by fire is a major one

trapped in a karaoke bar with Japanese drunks

would not be my idea of fun

I could not bear loss of my sight

or left paralyzed from the neck down

being chased on a lonely road at night

by a bus of circus people driven by a clown

being eaten alive by a nest of ants

or cut to pieces with a razor blade

found in a neighbors home without my pants

trying to squeeze my a*s in a hall lamp shade

bamboo shoots under my finger nails

having my groin smashed between 2 flat rocks

being forced to eat a bowl of snails

forced to bend over in a jail wearing only socks

but one thing scares me most of all

and there is nothing that I can do

my tears are real as I stare at the wall

knowing I will never again see you

Oh David, this made me smile and in some instances made me say ouch. But the last stanza made me cry. You are so good at that. At writing about your many emotions, and bringing them out in the reader. The thing that I am most scared of is: Not seeing, touching, loving, the one that holds my heart so dear.

This was another wonderfully emotional piece, so heartfelt.
