You Would Think

You Would Think

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

talking to myself

"

You Would Think

you would think by now I would have given up

you would think by now I would have forgotten you

you could not be further from the truth

you are deeper in my heart than that

you would think by now I would be looking

for someone else to take your place

to fill the gap that you have left

to close the piercing wound that remains

you would think by now I would have licked

my wounds and wandered off into the night

searching for a new light to show me the way

to show me the love you showed to me

you would think by now I might have grown angry

that I might feel cheated out of what I was seeking

but it is just the opposite feelings that I have

you would think by now I would have accepted

the fact that you will probably never even read

these words that I have written and that you

will never return to my world

you would think...

The strongest stronghold of a person is the LOVE!!
The love from another, the love that is shared.
This is beautifully written from down deep within a loving and caring heart.
