Grand Delusion

Grand Delusion

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

Nothing up my sleeve - you will stare at the picture and see my face

"

Grand Delusion

you asked if you could be my friend

I said I would be honored and thrilled

I have tried to keep my part of the deal

my thoughts and words so plainly spilled

yet I never see your face at my door

you never have anything to say to me

what did you ask me to be your friend for

I am nothing to you it's plain to see

it was all an Illusion to my delusion

you only wanted one more stroke

to add to your book of confusion

not one word not even a poke

you like collecting empty souls

to feed your frenzy of needed touch

but you leave us all with empty bowls

you need us just not that much

you'll pad your list with another name

hoping they will glorify your planned collusion

but to me and others just the same

nothing more than a Grand Delusion

very nice writing, I can definitely empathize with that. Well, sadly now I think everyone could. I like your first stanza, and the last three lines of the work especially. (:
