A tribute to those who continue to write despite silence and doubt, an anthem of quiet resilience, love, and memory.
For the ones who write
when the page feels indifferent,
when the world shrugs at metaphors,
and silence echoes louder than applause,
you are the ones
who remind language
that it still matters.
You are ink scraped from wounds,
pressed into paper with trembling grace,
not for fame,
but for freedom.
You write because memory asks to be held.
You write because the unsaid things
get heavy in your bones.
You write because love isn't loud
but sometimes rhymes.
There are nights
when poems hide from you,
when words feel like strangers,
when hope is too tired to be lyrical,
and still you stay,
chisel in hand,
sculpting truth from the quiet.
You are the light
flickering behind closed eyes
that still dares to dream
in paragraphs.
And if no one hears you?
The stars did.
The ones lost to grief did.
The future will.
You are the heartbeat
that teaches ink
to bleed beauty into brokenness.
Keep writing,
because somewhere,
someone will find your verse
and feel less alone,
and realize they, too,
were born to create.
This piece is for fellow poets and creators who’ve ever felt unseen or unheard. I hope it reminds you that your words matter deeply, even when no one seems to be listening.

We need the great poets, the great writers to remind us, to teach us. We can do more.

Your words are a gift I'll carry with me, not just for this piece, but for the quiet days when I wonder if poetry still reaches hearts. I am honored you'd return to those words in future moments, and until then, I send you every kind wish in return. May good things find you in all the ways that matter.

Thank you, Neville! Your kindness truly sparkles. Wishing you the same light and warmth always.
This is a poem that speaks of those who write for all the right reasons. For them, writing a spiritual thing, for them perfection means finding solace, release and strength from the written word. For them, its the only way to connect with themselves and the only way to reach out to another human soul. And in such nobility and purity of purpose does true art thrive.
You're such a beautiful writer. Your words are replete with the empathy and compassion that flow as rivers in your soul. I'm glad to have read your poetry today, dear Gregoria. ❤️

Well, we all go down that road at some point, it's inevitable as death. Because what audiences want is changing... Always different, always new, always something a little more specific or just a tad more vague...
But, when you can't help but scribble, the external validation becomes secondary at best. It feels good, yes, but at the same time we realize that with or without, there's no helping that urge but satisfying it.
Cheers.

I love how you put into words the tension between seeking external validation and the internal drive to create. It's a great reminder that, ultimately, the act of writing is about satisfying that urge within, regardless of external feedback. Cheers to the scribbling compulsion that keeps us going!

I have been fortunate enough to have a few pieces published, and have had enough time to think about what that means... the dim hope that maybe someday I can be for a reader what so many poets were for me... Yes, a light in dark times. To have been reached... to have been moved, I have been these things. That one day my words just might do the same? It's almost too much to consider, though I quietly... hope for it. Anyways. A wonderful read from a strong poetic voice. My pleasure.

That quiet hope you described, the longing to be a light for someone else, is exactly what fueled this poem. Knowing it stirred those reflections in you feels like the full circle I never expected but quietly wished for. Thank you for meeting it with such heart.
