I love this so much..... it feels real and heartfelt... like someone speaking from experience rather than just giving advice. it’s gentle but it hits deep..... the reminder that love is about showing up every day and being the kind of person you’d want to be with really stays with you. it’s not dramatic, just true in a way that makes you feel it in your heart.
Nicely done.

"The partner you seek will reflect who you already are." Now there is a line that will set many of us to thinking. There are those who, caught in a relationship filled with chaos, will wonder how they ever became involved with such an inappropriate partner. Is it possible that something within them drew them into that relationship? Did the negativity within them give out signals beckoning a copy? I don't know if this can be proved, but I can see how it might be.

Your reflection truly moved me. That line--“The partner you seek will reflect who you already are”--was meant to stir exactly this kind of introspection, and you’ve taken it somewhere powerful.
I’ve often heard people say “opposites attract,” and while there’s some truth to that, I think it’s more layered than we admit. Sometimes, a loving and caring person is drawn to someone who seems to be their emotional opposite--not because they want chaos, but because they see who they used to be. They stay, hoping the other person will choose growth, just as they once did.
And on the other side, the person who struggles to love or respect may be drawn to the light they admire but haven’t yet learned to hold. They might hope to become better--but without self-forgiveness, they remain stuck. If we can’t love ourselves, we can’t truly love others. And if we can’t forgive ourselves, we’ll keep hurting those who only ever tried to love us.
Sometimes, the most loving thing we can say is: “I’m sorry, but you cannot keep hurting me. I deserve respect. I will have to let you go--not because I stopped loving you, but because I finally started loving me.”
Thank you for engaging so deeply. Your words gave me space to reflect, and I’m grateful.
Betty love is what is but love can't be bought or forgotten like a hat, love is two that becomes one. But emotion in this write brings thought to a love without right its tough if I love you will love the same, its sad in this game we call.love.
Its a good write, thank you for sharing

I do believe love isn’t something that just happens when two people come together. Affection, shared experiences, and even calling it “love” early on might feel real, but often that’s the beginning--the attraction phase. True love, in my view, is something that develops over time through care, kindness, and the willingness to grow together.
Sometimes, love only begins to take root when both people face challenges and choose to work through them--not just for themselves, but for each other. And if one person isn’t willing to grow or meet halfway, then letting go might be the most loving thing to do—for both to heal and evolve.
Love isn’t just about becoming one---it’s about becoming better, together.
Thank you again for reading and responding. Your words added depth to the conversation.💛🌻

Hello Gregoria
This is so true.. many people look at love very superficially.... looks, sex, wealth, etc. but the way you describe it is spot on; if what you expect from your partner ..intention, reflection, loyalty...you must also give all of those qualities...."do I show up the way I hope to be seen"? Lovely writing!

Thank you so much for your kind and insightful words. I wrote it hoping to shift the lens from what we expect in love to how we show up for it, and your reflection captured that beautifully.
You're absolutely right: love is often viewed through superficial filters, but its real depth lies in mutual intention, reflection, and integrity. I especially appreciated your echo of the line “do I show up the way I hope to be seen?”---it’s a question I return to often, both in relationships and in daily life.
Warmly, Gregoria

Such a powerful reminder that love starts with the way we show up ourselves, not just what we hope to receive.
