In darkness where I belongA Poem by Webster
No matter how the daylight gleams,
Or how I fight to guide my dreams, The shadows curl around my sight They follow close, they steal my light. My demons clutch my weary chest, They twist and pull, deny me rest. Air fills the world, yet I can’t breathe, A silent cage I can’t escape, A moment I can’t ever leave. I try to rise, I climb, I strain, But life breaks open under pain. The ground gives way beneath my feet, And down I fall in cold retreat Returned to where I’m doomed to be, A place that feels like home to misery. © 2025 Webster |
