The FlameA Poem by Nicholas DuboeThis is a poem I wrote (TBH) about my father. Hope you like it!You were once a flame I kept near for warmth but I learned to embrace the cold Your light could no longer keep my attention and your intensity was getting old I wandered away from your comfort blindly navigating the dark unknown Then came to find I didn't need your light cause I'd sparked a flame of my own But I remember the flame that kept me warm even though I've gone astray Burning my own path through life growing further and further each day In the end that flame is out there though not bright enough to see No matter the distances I may cross, I know which flame ignited me.
