I've walked this street
A thousand times.
I've felt the rain
Rehearsed my lines.
Watched the windows
Silent and still
You're not coming
You never will.
A foolish hope
You'll feel my pain
And see me walking
Out in the rain.
A hope that wavers
And flickers still
But you're not coming
You never will.

Written in 2002. It is difficult to love what you cannot have, but it is far more painful not to love at all.
