Sinking in Ocean on a Sunny Day

Sinking in Ocean on a Sunny Day

A Poem by Gray C. Sweet
"

A poem I wrote in the same rhyme and similar meter to Robert Frost's: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

"

Water crashing, light piercing through

Mind and body fading to blue

One simple offer made to me

To end this life and start anew

When I resurface, will I be

Another sacrificial plea

From sorry oceans to the sun?

In burning hands could I be free?

I ask the star what I have done

To die when I have just begun

The resignation to my fear?

The cowards lies that I have spun?

I open up my eyes to peer

Up to white clouds through waters clear

To see if help will find me here

To see if help will find me here
