I love this. Not only because it is well written but because I too am counting down the days until I can become a gardener again. Our hyacinths, crocuses and mums are sprouted ahead of time. What are they thinking? Spring?

I can't seem to grow a darned thing. I water, I fertilize, and whatever it is barely clings to life. But--when I was young, my mother would "supervise" my brother and I in the garden, (We'd do all the work) and the veggies verily shot out of the ground. It's just not fair, I tell ya.

My mum has an immaculate but seemingly random garden (known as a 'cottage garden in the Uk') and I so wish I had her skills, but am far too lazy to ever get there. Perhaps I need a husband and grandsons to do the work like you! Hope you manage to convey your Presidential horticultural skills!

Poor guy doesn't even know what's coming!
I love nature and the joys of helping cultivate her potiential in our gardens and yards. Thank you for the story and the "hope" of spring. Posted 12 Years Ago |
