Being a poet and tagging pages of writers cafe or any other site can be an anonymous type of endeavor if no one outside this place knows you post poetry. No one I know knows.
We write or we paint and that's good enough for me. What we leave is for those that appreciate it.
I say stick with it .. in time we might just make a beautiful mural .. or something to be proud of .. perhaps but I am quite happy the way it hangs here too :)
Some degree of anonymity can ultimately be most desirable. It all depends on the person we are. Whether we are happy to leave our graffiti tag and disappear quietly or, like those that are mostly in abundance nowadays, that want every spot of paint they leave behind to be salivated upon and held up under a spotlight.
This poem also speaks to me about a degree of loneliness or solitude. One who leaves their splash of paint and moves on and whose contribution goes unnoticed or unacknowledged.
It’s an interesting piece and one, I think, stands alone as it currently reads.
A very good metaphor for an artist sinking into anonymity. Leaving but traces of paint, words. I liked the hit and run reference and could relate to it personally, at so many levels. A despair is sensed in the words. Enjoyed this poem.
I'm living in the good ol' south of the US of A. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I guess that means I'm supposed to know things. I don't always. I write because I can, and because I can write word.. more..
