Love Wasn't There

This was written sometime in high school. Some of my early work. This is one of my fav poems.

My heart is gone; it washed away,
into a world of dark and gray.
I wanted to stay away from my heart
Leaving it there,
It all broke apart.

Wondering why I left it to lay.
It still sat there, fading away.
Without my love was nothing but sadness,
trying to break though the thought of my madness.
I came to my heart, nothing was there.
It was all gone without me,
Love wasn't there.
