Early InspirationA Story by Greg Skura
I remember being in grade four I would have been eight years old. It was a sunny spring day there were small amounts of snow scattered in piles all over the ground, and puddles of water all around. My friend and I were running all over the playground, and jumping over the puddles. I was wearing a pair of heavy brown corduroy pants, and a Muskoka dinner jacket. We ran until we were tired out, then we went to the south side of the school to sit in the sun. We found a dry spot on the pavement, and sat down with our backs to the wall facing the sun, we talked a little, but mostly we sat in silence.
Sitting there I noticed that my pants were very wet from playing in the water. As I looked down I was totally amazed seeing steam rising from my pants as the water evaporated, I had never noticed that before. At that point I had an impression come streaming through the top of my head in to my mind, and pouring out through my heart, a total feeling of inspiration, and a sense of destiny. I felt at that moment that I was somehow capable of, influencing the world in some way. Like the invention of insulin (had recently learned of Banting, and Best's discovery) or to have an even greater impact on humanity in a way that maybe I could not yet even perceive. And from time to time, I would remember it many years passed, and now I found that feeling again.
Knowing now my destiny is to influence the world to awaken, to the reality of the divine dweller within, and recognize conscience as the link to this.
