Fragile Leaf

A poem comparing a leaf to a heart.

A fragile thing, a leaf is

As is a heart

As a leaf fallen from its mother

Dried upon the ground rips and tears

As does a heart

Some leaves aren't even fully there from the start

Leaves get picked from trees or fall too young

As does a heart

Leaves get gathered in clusters of confusion

Stomped and burn quickly

As does a heart

Leaves regrow where they once began

Unscathed and unharmed

Unlike a heart

A leaf cannot burn passionately for a million years

Grow larger from breaking

Unlike a heart

Leaves cannot bandage up whats been shredded

Stand much torture and pain

Unlike a heart
