Today was a first: Today was a last

Today was a first: Today was a last

A Poem by Grumpie

I hemmed my first pair of pants today, in fact, make that three.

I finished the job, top to bottom, no one around to harass me.

The seamstress has her own vibe, bringing the towns folk alive,

They stop in, see me, and awkward fills the harmonious jive.

A newcomer, a stranger, a young woman in the shop!

They assume the older woman has the skill to stop

All wayward thought. She’s wise, she’s grey, she’s stark.

I’m young, I’m sweet, I’m naive, nowhere near making a mark.

And yet a dream begins to fill my head, two is better than one,

When striving for greatness, the pair might just get things done.

Too much desire makes you stressed. I know man just leave to get beer. Why do you want to fight just sit neutral and watch the game I throw tomato she throws potatoes and for an hour her husband what is the fun you are making here comes out let's go to our home .and husband comes overdrunk and without eating food he falls on bed vomiting on bed and I see what he drink beer whisky vodka. I thought you drank old and less cost brand...now we are running out of money ....
In the morning hangover where he supposed to go to North Hampton..

Strength in pairs. I feel ambition in this poem. A desire to make dreams come true. I like the idea of old and young weaving magic together. Enjoyed reading you. Happy Sunday.

It’s got a warm, slice-of-life rhythm with a touch of “prove them wrong” energy.

This has a lovely rhythm and rhyme scheme, but some word choices and enjambment feels a touch forced as a result - perhaps see if you can loosen the lines a bit
