My little patchwork bandana: Sowing the seams back together again

My little patchwork bandana: Sowing the seams back together again

A Poem by Grumpie
"

A couplet? Finally...maybe?

"

My dear heart was torn in pieces,

letting all the past go.

I had to keep moving with the species,

don’t think over woe.

Onward and upward to new heights,

Forgetting comfort of home.

Crashing from the mountain top frights,

Closing the thick bound tome.

To sit and stare in the mirror at a stranger,

Her heart jaggidly sown.

Quick to jump and dance away from danger,

Her strong courage shown.

Now to relax at the hillside overlooking peace,

Her hands scared from burns.

To remember the old ways of feeling ease,

Back to the trees she turns.

The little bandana green, white, and blue,

A badge of honor shown.

Stitched with haste the edges frayed in two,

Was made free by her own,

Two hands and patch-worked heart to be,

The center piece of she.

Resembling how far she’s grown to me,

Is the strength you now can see.

A go at a more traditional format, but I didn't count the meter...
