Whiskey On a Cold AfternoonA Poem by Giulia KingMy thoughts of you are like whiskey on a cold afternoon.
Painful to swallow and blurry. There was a really good thing right in front of my eyes, I didn't need a lifetime with you to realize that. As the sky was starting to fall into darkness, I started to fall apart. "Tell me what to say so I don't lose you again" he said. There was a reason I collided into you. Maybe it was life, trying to teach me a lesson. A lesson that's going to make me a stronger woman. Maybe it was God, trying to make a fool out of me. Maybe the whiskey is all that I have left of you.
"You broke my heart" I said at last. "But yet left me smiling." © 2017 Giulia KingFeatured Review
