I gave of myself to you

far more than you deserved.

Why I did so

not I know,

--yet surely it was a mistake

for you were not willing to give in return

even half of the love,

care,

time

and money

I wasted on you.

 

I would like to give you more,

yet why should I continue crossing lands

for you

if you are not even willing to walk a single mile

for me?

i know they say if we really love someone, we expect nothing in return...but to me, real love is a give and take, a two way street...driving one way all the time gets us to dead ends.
