Another Day to You

Another Day to You

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

waking up and wanting to give the entire day to her

"
I awake so aroused by you,
You sing life into me,
In pure verses that give their due.
Bounded to you dearly,
I give this day, like those before.
No lesser honor would be pure.
I give this day.
I give this day.
Regret never reaches my shore.
I awake so aroused by you,
Completely taken back.
Entranced by simple morning dew;
Eyes full of you I lack.
What is a day these eyes lose sight,
Of the one thing they dream at night.
What is a day?
What is a day?
Leave me sleep till the world is right.
I awake so aroused by you,
Anxious to drink you up,
I can think no other task through;
My spirit is the cup.
Another day I give to you,
While basking in your fiery hue.
Another day!
Another day!
May it prove adequate and true.

For my muse, I hope this one births a smile on her face. My 1st attempt at a Trijan Refrain; thanks to Shelly A. for exposing me to it. Your thoughts are welcomed, thank you for reading.

No problem, it was my pleasure (:
Now be careful and mindful that emotion can lead a man to uncivil manners.

I will be sure to keep that in mind.
you've done the form very well...

i like how this woman arouses the speaker's senses...and arouses him in so many ways...makes the day worth living when he wakes up to her.

Thank you, Jacob. You've summed up the intention of my words perfectly.
Your poem is song-like, PH, and all ladies love to be sung to. You've done well with this form - not an easy one at all. I could feel your love and hope that your lady feels it too.

Overwhelming love, devotion, and adoration in every line of this wonderful poem, my friend. A love like that is all consuming. You wake up with desire and go to sleep with longing. Yes, that describes how a true poet feels about the muse. The Trijan Refrain is not an easy form, but you have aced it here. Kudos to you. Lydi**
