Does the distance plot against us... does it even care?

Dare my mouth speak
To this immutable distance
And ask, is it as lonely as we
Or is it aloof and juvenile,
sending our lovesick desires
On the backs of paper airplanes
Into the ether of wishful thinking

I love how you give distance a personality--aloof, almost playful; while our desires struggle to reach across it. The image of paper airplanes carrying wishful thoughts is both tender and bittersweet. Short, but it lingers, like the ache of longing itself.

I really enjoyed the imagery in this one TG, been awhile since I have turned any of my focus towards my writing, let alone that of others. Good to see you keep at it yourself from time to time.
