A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

Unexpected, but cherished nonetheless.

"
1st half:
Bewitch'd

wrapped in magic and mysticism
she speaks dark ancient dialects
as her hips cast intricate love spells
deep within the wolfish hearts of men
and like drowsy children counting sheep...
they fall in gullible droves, foolishly
ignoring the noose at the back of her throat

-for a witch

2nd half:
That Acquired Madness

to be insane and in love
is to know that on her bosom alone
sits honey'd ecstasy and certain destruction
and yet, in the deafening fever pitch of chaos
as the fire ignites within your veins
and she becomes your madness
-- you smile still

Reminds me of opium and other addictive and destructive.
Someone once said Poetry is dressed in rags and nobody recognizes her. I'm of the opinion that oftentimes, death dresses in G-string and guys are none the wiser.
A sobering poem.

You are absolutely right. Thank you for the visit and review.
Travis, this poem is mesmerizing. I love how Bewitch’d draws us into the intoxicating power of desire, and That Acquired Madness captures the fevered intensity of love that is at once ecstatic and dangerous. The imagery is vivid and haunting, and the tension between enchantment and peril lingers beautifully. Thank you for sharing such a passionate and insightful piece.
