Driving Under Your Influence

Driving Under Your Influence

A Poem by Hank Writes

I see so many heart-shaped clouds this summer

And so many butterflies

I can’t catch the butterfly, but it makes me smile

I can’t photograph the heart cloud, it fades away too fast

Would I see them without you in my heart?

Is everyone else lucky enough to see what I see?

I need you to know I am so much more aware

And I want to make you aware that I know how much I need you

You are in the clouds, you are in this poem

I know it is you who released the butterflies

It is clear you inspire me and you wake me up so I can live my dreams

I can’t do any of this without you

So why am I without you?

Everywhere I am now is a place you should be

I yearn for that special time when we can realize this love…

The day we can dance with the butterflies

And walk on a beach under the heart shaped clouds

… Someday

The emotion was sad in the words and I felt the hope for a new beginning.
"The day we can dance with the butterflies
And walk on a beach under the heart shaped clouds"
Sometime all we have is wishes and hope. I liked and understood the words. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
