Raw Power of Emotion

Raw Power of Emotion

A Poem by Hannah
"

Who else feels this?

"

 I feel a tingle

It starts in my ribs

and wiggles up into my throat

and then it squirms behind my eyes.

this was not here before.

Is having it be there a part of growing up?

It's impossible, impossible

impossible, impossible

to put in words.

Is it true that it's just hormones?

Because to me

Though I may be a teenager

and have a less developed brain

(although lets face it, sometimes so do adults)

that pleasant odd tingle I feel wiggling around from my chest to my eyes

feels to me just like the zeal I have for being alive.

Beat that, Health Class.

You say sciences.

I say the raw power of emotion, an artist.
